groofs 2
A downloadable music pack
When you've got a hard drive full of some smooth, chill, funky, and kickin' old-school crunchy jams, you eventually reach the point of overload, the result of which — in this case — is GROOFS 2, a 16-bit music pack, free unless you choose otherwise, to use in your projects. Check the linked YT video for a 15ish-second preview of each track. H E E E R R R R E E E W E E E E G O O O O O !

What's a "16-bit music pack"?
Great question! Staggeringly sharp of you to ask. Seriously, though, don't read too much into it: these tracks simply lean into the sound profiles and methods of creation (that is, lots of FM synthesis and bit-crushed samples) that pull from the days of the Sega Genesis (/Mega Drive), SNES (/Super Famicom), Neo-Geo, arcade cabinets, and adjacent such vestiges of gaming years gone by. They feature that distinct crunch and grit that reminds me of classic, old-school titles I can never forget.
Free, eh?
It's donationware, so whatever you're willing to pay, I'm willing to accept, though I ensure you it's not for a lack of quality. A few bucks here and there always help motivate me to make future such packs, but ultimately if people can make use of my music, that's awesome!
What can I use these songs for?
Nearly anything you can imagine: birthday parties, amateur wrestling entrance themes, divorce announcements — oh, even game dev! Everything except feeding it to your favorite horseshit generative AI program.
Outside that, just attribute me and you're good to go. I'd love if you'd reach out as well if you choose to use it for a project. I'll help spread the word!
A lot of these clock in under a minute!
Hell yeah they do. These are asset tracks, not grand classical movements. That said, they're made with funky beats, bumpin' bass lines, killer grooves, and good vibes that can fit any number of projects.
You want something longer or more specifically suited to your project? Commission me! Let's talk and we can see how things fit.
What's going on in these folders?
*If* there's a little intro part, it's included; otherwise, you can just let the loop run as is and it should cycle through cleanly. All files are provided as larger .wav files and smaller .ogg files for those who are conscious on storage.
